Jesus sent his disciples and said in Mark 16: 15, “Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Hither to, Jesus had confined his true teaching, preaching and awesome meaning and interpretation of scripture to Judea and its environs. It was time for the world to also hear of Jesus so they will be saved. Matthew 4: 16; Luke 1: 79, the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land in the shadow of death a light has dawned. Jesus came as the light for those in darkness. So, what is the gospel Jesus wants us to share with the world?
Jesus is the truth that shows the way to God
The confession of Jesus’ enemies in Matthew 22: 16; Mark 12: 14; Luke 20: 21 says Jesus shows the way of God in accordance with the truth. Prior to Jesus’ coming, religious leaders obfuscated scripture for personal convenience. Jesus taught the truth and said in John 14: 6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. The truth makes us the light of the world. Acts 13: 47 says, for this is what the Lord has commanded us: “’I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” Jesus has sent us out to share this truth of the light.
God through Jesus dwells with us always
Jesus is God himself made man to dwell with us. John 1: 1-11 says, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning… In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind… He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him… The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. This means, from the beginning, God has been the word; the life and light of the world; and Jesus crucified by those among whom he came to dwell. There is no distinction between the Word, Jesus and God but one. Jesus wants us to share this truth.
Jesus came in love to save the world from sin
Based on God’s love for mankind, he came down in the form of Christ Jesus to save us. John 3: 16 says, for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. This means God’s love is unfailingly expressed in Jesus; and eternal life is only in Christ Jesus, God’s only Son. Simeon prayed in Luke 2: 30-31, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations. Jesus wants us to tell the world what he said in Matthew 9: 6; Mark 2: 10; Luke 5: 24, I want you to know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins.”
Jesus adopts us as relatives upon obedience
Jesus saves and transforms life. John 1: 12 says, to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. Jesus saves and adopts at the same time. He said in John 15: 14-15, you are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my father I have made known to you. Tell the world that Jesus’ adoption is tied to qualified obedience to him.
Jesus is the eternal good shepherd
As a good shepherd, Jesus has a personal relationship with each of his sheep. He said in John 10: 14-15, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me… I lay down my life for the sheep. He does not desert in troubled times but shares our burdens. Jesus said in John 10: 11, “… The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Verse 17 says, only he can lay down his life and take it up again. This is how he rose from the dead. He is always near us to attend to our needs. He is quoted saying in Hebrews 13: 5, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Let the world know of his everlasting presence.
Jesus is the only true source of life
Jesus said in John 15: 5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. Yielding fruit in the spirit comes from only Jesus. True life is not materialism, though it provides some feeling of comfort. Jesus said in Luke 12: 15, life does not consist in the abundance of possessions. What matters is the soul. Matthew 16: 26; Mark 8: 36; Luke 9: 25 say, what good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Jesus warns the world that God, not material possession, is the key to life.
Jesus is the ordained righteous Saviour
The one who pleases God must be without blemish. 1 Peter 1: 18-20 say, for you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Hebrews 2: 18 says, because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Let the world know that because Jesus overcame trials, he is able to help us in times of trouble.
He is the Lord of the universe
As the Lord of the world, Luke 4: 6 says, “I will give you all authority and splendor, it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. Though Lord of the world, he rather served his subjects with humility. Matthew 20: 28; Mark 10: 45 says, the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. He will return to judge the world according to our deeds. John 5: 26 says, for the Father has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. We are to tell the world that on his second coming, he will not be a suffering Lord, but a righteous judge of our deeds.
Have we told the world that Jesus is Lord? Our deeds speak louder than our words. Souls are perishing because they do not know the true Jesus. 1Corinthians 2: 8 says, none of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Jesus commands us to preach to the world. Luke 11: 28 says, “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” He said in John 14: 23, anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. Are we telling about Jesus to the world?
