God loves his creation unconditionally. It is written in 1John 4: 9, this is how God showed his love among us. He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This means that before God, we can only live through Christ Jesus and without him, there is no life. Galatians 4: 3-5 say, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.
God sent Christ Jesus, his only Son out of pure and true love, to redeem us from spiritual servitude. Ezekiel 18: 23 says, do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? Declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? God continued in Ezekiel 18: 32, for I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live! God concluded in Ezekiel 33: 11, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’ How did Christ Jesus show God’ pure unfailing love to the world?
He relationship showed love
Christ Jesus began and ended his ministry in true and unfailing love. He died for us for John 15: 13 says greater love has no man than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. He also commanded us to love one another in John 13: 34, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. He also kept us in his love when he said in John 15: 9, “As the father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. He gave us life for John 1: 4-5 say, in him was life, and the life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
He forgave his offenders
On the cross, Jesus pleaded for his murderers to be forgiven. He said in Luke 23: 34, “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” This was because God ordained him to show his love to the world. John 3: 16-17 says, for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Based on his unconditional forgiveness, Jesus gave us life by his death on the cross. His light showed us the way back to God in righteousness.
He showed no partiality
He showed God’s love without partiality to anyone. A statement to Jesus said in Luke 20: 21, “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Peter said in Acts 10: 34, “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favouritism. Paul also said in Romans 2: 11, God does not show favouritism. Galatians 2: 6 says, God does not show favouritism. Ephesians 6: 9 says there is no favouritism in him.
He came not to judge sinners
Jesus did not execute his mandate as a judge or to condemn us but in love to reconcile us to God. Matthew 9: 13; Mark 2: 17; Luke 5: 32 says, I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Jesus knew that no sacrifice surpassed his mercy through God’s grace. Because he was merciful, he did not judge us. He said in John 12: 47, I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. However, on the final day, he will judge us from the heart and our deeds. He forgave us on the cross because he loved us in spite of our sins. Paul said in Romans 5: 8, but God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. His forgiveness is not intended as carte blanche for sin.
He is part of those who love him
Jesus desires true and lasting union with us. He said in John 6: 56, whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. He described our union with him thus in John 15: 5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing. For this reason, Jesus said in John 6: 35, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
Jesus described the bread as ‘living bread’ in John 6: 51, I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” In so far as Jesus lives, whoever eats his body and drinks his blood will also live because he lives in us. He said to the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well in John 4: 10-14, he is the giver of the living water and living stream (paraphrased).
God’s love is eternal through Christ Jesus. In Christ Jesus, we know the infinite love of God; and through him, we will experience his unfailing love for he has said in Romans 8: 39, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Do we need God’s unfailing love? Let us come to Jesus now!
